Dear Deputy Secretary Gibson,
I am appalled by the findings of the VA Office of Inspector General regarding Kimberly Graves,
and the subsequent decision to transfer her to the VBA Regional Office in Phoenix.
The Phoenix VA Health Care System was at the epicenter of the VA scandal and has since
demonstrated ongoing systemic problems. After two years of hearings addressing these
problems, the decision to transfer Ms. Graves to Phoenix was irresponsible and frankly,
offensive.
I understand that her reassignment has now been put on hold. I am adamantly opposed to any
future decision to transfer Ms. Graves to Phoenix.
This is not accountability. If the VA hopes to regain the trust of Arizona veterans, it simply must
do better than this. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
(Seal)
The Honorable Ann Kirkpatrick
U.S. Representative, Arizona District One
CC: The Honorable Secretary Robert A. McDonald
